Santa Knows how to Multitask

Getting face time with the big guy is tough; his minion elves command you to stand patiently in hour-long lines and then hustle you away as soon as your photo op is complete. You hardly have time to eke out the words “I wanna new pink glitter paint job for my Hyundai and a compost barrel for my garden” before you’re dragged away from His glorious presence. There’s only one way to beat the system: maximize your Santa exposure.

Aside from all the major malls, St. Nick’ll be at two events today. The first is breakfast with Santa from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Delray Beach Marriott (10 N. Ocean Blvd., Delray Beach). This is nice because Santa can see your excellent table manners – that’s a good bargaining chip to trade the big guy for, say, a side car for your Vespa. Breakfast tickets cost $10. Photos are an additional $10. Call 561-279-1380, ext. 17 for tickets.

The second Santa opportunity is a meet and greet at Flamingo Gardens & Wildlife Sanctuary (3750 S. Flamingo Rd., Davie). We can guess that you’ll see a more eco-conservative side of Santa, so this might be the right time to ask for replacement worms for your vermiculture system (this time you swear you won’t accidentally kill them). This event also occurs on Sunday, so you can come back for seconds. Tickets range $8.50 (for wee ones) to $17 (age 12 and up). Call 954-473-2955.
