In 1984, the ad wizards at the Gillette razor company offered Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill, lead vocalists of legendary blues-rock band ZZ Top, a million dollars each to shave off their infamously thick, long, awesome beards. Wisely, the men turned the offer down. "We're too ugly without 'em," they demurred. It's true that ZZ Top isn't a band known for being handsome. But thanks to their blockbuster '80s hit album Eliminator, they became known as the cool dudes who always had a bevy of hot chicks around to stroke their beards and ride in their sweet cherry-red hot rod. Not too shabby. If you want to know what's new with the "little ol' band from Texas," it's been steadily crankin' out albums, so expect to hear some newer material amid classics like "Tush," "Cheap Sunglasses," "Tube Snake Boogie," and of course, "Legs."
