Because No Man is a (Long) Island

Thursday nights can be the most stressful evenings of any work week. You’ve spent your last four days protecting yourself from office toxicity. On Monday you sound-proofed your cubicle so that you wouldn’t be tempted to strangle your Celine Dion-addicted neighbor. On Tuesday you brought your lunch so that you could beg out of “Salad Day” with the gang (it’s not that you don’t love the Escarole spring mix; it’s the “boss animosity” dressing that turns your stomach). Wednesday was spent laying low, stamping files, and avoiding eye-contact with the creepy dude who gets paid to water the office plants. And Thursday? Thursday was spent daydreaming of Long Island Ice Tea night at Georgie’s Alibi (2266 Wilton Dr., Wilton Manors). You see, pumping yourself full of $3 giant cocktails composed almost entirely of booze is the best way to purge your body of bad office vibes. Just think of it as yoga – without all the bending, and with rum, vodka, tequila, gin, and triple sec instead of Vitamin Water. You could even make it into your new mantra: “Delicious cheap booze in, evil office energy out.”

Now repeat that chant until all 22 ounces of drunken goodness are emptied out of your mason jar. Yes. You’re one step closer to the weekend, and spiritual healing. Call 954-565-2526, or visit www.georgiesalibi.com.
