Allan Bowron – better known throughout South Florida as DJ GG – has been organizing everything from Goth shows to the Disco Prom for two-and-a-half years now, but his latest gig at Respectable Street (518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach) will be the closest to his heart. That’s because proceeds from the show, featuring badass synth/electro acts The Ache, Mission Veo, and Freezepop, will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Florida.

See, Bowron’s youngest daughter was born with a debilitating genetic disorder that’s hindered her immune system and caused severe setbacks to her growth. It was tough going for Bowron and his wife, who each work full-time in addition to promoting shows, and the medical bills that followed were almost insurmountable. But thanks to the help from several charitable organizations, he and his family were able to supplement their medical expenses and get by. Now, Bowron wants to give back to those who devote their time and efforts to helping others. “There’s no way we would have been able to afford the medical insurance without these organizations,” says Bowron. “That’s why I wanted to do this. Every show I do from here on out will be for charity.”

And if Friday night’s show is any indication, Bowron’s new line of shows will help a lot of folks too. Massachusetts electro group Freezepop (of Guitar Hero and Rock Band fame) will drop the house with their infectious, tongue-in-cheek brand of synth-driven pop, while Mission Veo (think the Rapture meets Franz Ferdinand) furthers their goal of putting Fort Lauderdale on the dance-rock map.
