Hollywood, Florida, is growing and changing everyday. The town has recently embraced everything from gelato to trapeze lessons, but quite possibly the best thing about the city is the current restaurant selection. You’ll find Greek, sushi, steak, and pasta joints that rival anything South Beach offers but at more affordable prices (and you don’t have to dodge zipping rollerbladers.) So for one restaurant to stand ahead of that stiff competition the way Lola’s on Harrison does, you know it’s doing something special.

This Thursday is the perfect time to visit Lola’s. Chef Michael Wagner has created a delicious four-course dinner (opening with coriander crusted sea scallops and closing with a moist chocolate stout cake) and matched each serving with a different variety of microbrew by Rouge Brewery. In addition to teaching you the most delicious lesson you’ve ever learned (how to pair exceptional beers with fine cuisine), you’ll also be donating to charity. During the meal, diners will vote on which of three charities they think a portion of the night’s proceeds should benefit – whichever organization wins the popular vote wins the money. It’s such a great idea that Wagner has already decided to make it a regular happening, occurring on the last Thursday of each month. If you miss it, your belly might never speak to you again.
