In the 1980's, Bobcat Goldthwait became an American stand-up comedy icon with a stage persona that was part anxiety-attack, part rabies infection -- and totally funny. Screaming, howling, and snorting his way through his routines, you couldn't help but wonder what drugs he was on -- and how long it would be before he overdosed. But surprise surprise, it's 20 years later, and not only is he not dead yet, he has a string of guest roles on a huge list of TV shows to his credit, including several voice-overs for Disney cartoons (Disney?!?). And he's still performing stand-up: He's coming to the Improv at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel (5700 Seminole Way, Hollywood) Thursday through Sunday.

The audience will be filled with people in their 30's and 40's, who have undoubtedly attempted a Bobcat Goldthwait impersonation at some point in their lives. Annoying, yes, but it was the thing to do back then. Tickets cost $21.20. Showtimes vary each day; visit www.improvftl.com, or call 954-981-5653.
