Your Mom Thinks Hes Hot

You might think that an aspiring singer with an utterly outlandish name like Engelbert Humperdinck would have it legally changed to something a little more normal... like Tom Jones, maybe. In this case, the opposite is true. Although he had the looks and the vocal chops, Arnold George Dorsey made the ballsy move of adopting the name of a real 19th century German composer, and in doing so, made himself instantly memorable.
Sure, Engelberts moniker made him the subject of endless pre-pubescent snickerings during his ´70s heyday -- but while the rugrats laughed, their mommies were swooning for his crooning.
Catch him live on Sunday at BankAtlantic Center (One Panther Pkwy., Sunrise). Doors open at 7 p.m.; tickets range $57.75 to $77.75. Call 954-835-7000, or visit www.bankatlanticcenter.com.
