Crawl over to the IMAX Theater at the Museum of Discovery and Science (401 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale) to experience The Spiderwick Chronicles. Based on the series of bestselling fantasy adventure books with the same name, this movie illustrates some strange happenings surrounding the Grace family in its new home, an estate owned by their great, great uncle Arthur Spiderwick. As one can imagine, the creatures our onscreen heroes encounter will seem large to them, but they’ll be about 60 by 80 feet to us. (Yup, they’ll loom like a pre-Jenny Craig Kirstie Alley in a bikini.) A Spiderwick-themed sleepover is also scheduled for March 1, but it’s just for families – no singles or pervs allowed, even if they claim to be fans of the series. Tickets cost $12 for adults and $10 for kids. The film rolls daily, so check www.mods.org, or call 954-463-IMAX.
