If you’re a sentient twenty-something-year-old woman, chances are you remember your first trip to J’s Bar (2780 Davie Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). For the last nine years, a night at J’s has been a rite of passage for many budding lesbians and their supportive-but-straight BFFs who end up there for everything from beer pong to drag shows.
You might even call it the closest thing to Cheers, if said Cheers got rid of that arrogant Ted Danson and let Rhea Perlman and Kirstie Alley rule the roost. If it’s been awhile or you’re new to the J’s experience, an all-day stay on Sunday will get you reacquainted with the gang. Show up at noon when doors open for a two-for-one happy hour.
