Sister Act I

She borrowed your clothes without asking – and they looked better on her. And remember when she put a dent in Dad’s car — and blamed you? If you can’t imagine a fate worse than being trapped with your sister in your childhood home, take a lesson from Maria Celia and Sofia.

Set in 1991 Cuba, Two Sisters and a Piano, by Miami’s own Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz, begins with Maria Celia and her little sis Sofia doing usual sister stuff (aka: dual house arrest for pissing off the government). And while being stuck at home sucks, at least they’re stuck together — until Maria Celia’s sexy tryst with a lieutenant puts sisterly love to the test.

The Promethean Theatre brings you enough scandal, strength, and sisterhood to make you forget which one of you the ´rents loved best. Come out to Mailman Hollywood Theatre (Nova Southeastern University, 3301 College Ave.) for some bonding. The play runs February 29 to March 16. Tickets start at $10.
