Some festivals roll into town with a whimper, others with a cough, and then you have Jazz in the Gardens. This two-day extravaganza of smooth grooves is coming down Dan Marino Boulevard riding the sweet sounds of George Benson’s guitar, the immortal pipes of Chaka Khan, and whichever musical trick Wyclef decides to pull out of his hat.

For the third year in a row, Dolphin Stadium will be the place to be for jazz-lovers from the Grove to the Gables, Aventura to Hollywood. If you eschew the aggressive genres of music for a sound that you can either two-step to or just bob your head real cool-like, today and tomorrow the stars you love will be bringing it right to your backyard. Benson, Wyclef, and Khan (Khaaan!) kick it today starting at 4 p.m., while the legendary (the O’Jays, Nancy Wilson, and Anthony David) to the soon-to-be legendary (Kem and Chrisette Michelle) will be blessing your ears with jazz on Sunday. And with that as your soundtrack, the rest of your body will enjoy the array of ethnic foods, drinks, and souvenirs for sale. Admission starts at $25. Visit www.jazzinthegardens.com for details, or www.ticketmaster.com to purchase.
