France, Interrupted

Focus, Francophiles! The Norton Museum of Art (1451 S. Olive Ave., West Palm Beach) is presenting an impressive collection of works from Edouard Boubat and Robert Doisneau, some of France’s most important photographers of the 20th century. You’ve undoubtedly seen Doisneau’s “Kiss by the Hotel de Ville” (wherein two lovers lock lips on a Parisian street) at your friendly neighborhood print retailer or over some sappy chick’s headboard. Boubat’s works aren’t as prevalent in America, but something will surely appeal to your inner beret-wearer.

“The Hunter Gift: Edouard Boubat and Robert Doisneau” is the second in a series of three photography exhibitions this season. The next session will feature photos from Mexican Manuel Álvarez Bravo and American Arthur Rothstein. Voyeurs can have a peek at the Norton Museum of Art Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. General admission is $8 for adults. Call 561-832-5196, or visit www.norton.org.
