The Grand Canyon is one of nature’s most breath-taking creations, but let’s face it: packing the kids into the station wagon and driving 36 hours to Arizona ain’t pretty. So skip the trip and check out the Grand Canyon Adventure 3D on IMAX instead. It’s a stunning river ride with Wade Davis and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on a 60-by-80-foot screen. Way better than a constant backseat chorus of are-we-there-yets. Now you’ve just got to get the gang together for the harrowing trip to the IMAX Theater at the Museum of Discovery and Science (401 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale). Grand Canyon Adventure 3D: River at Risk opens Friday; admission starts at $7. Visit www.mods.org/IMAX, or call 954-463-IMAX for showtimes.
