Hoppy Anniversary

Georgie’s Alibi (2266 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors) is a South Florida institution of fabulousness, so it’s only right that it commemorates its 11th anniversary accordingly. Thursday night’s party is the culmination of an 11-day celebration sponsored by Patron Tequila and Ultimat Vodka, with lots of goodies and giveaways. The evening’s events begin at 8:30 p.m., when dutiful employees (with five years of service) will be presented with bling rings – it’s like the Super Bowl, but for booze.

Then stick around for the main event: a performance by the inimitable and irreverent Lady Bunny. Ms. Bunny is not your average drag queen, and tonight the world will know just that when the “Blonde from Beyond” presents her Laugh In-styled variety show – guffaws guaranteed. Pop songs are jaw-droppingly filthified, and her DVD trailer promises that “this bitch can even make Republicans dance.” The “insanity a-go-go” begins at 9:45 p.m., and a friendly bartender says emphatically that there is “never, never” a cover.
