Dead Can Dance

Zombies have always been the coolest of the undead — the lumbering, rotting hordes might be slow, but they make up for it with tenacity and pluck. In that same vein, Crush — the reanimated zombie of the indie dance party world — is back in action, baby. That’s not to say this is a corpse that should’ve died long ago. No, Crush is the sort of undying party we need more of — a friendly sort of gathering where art and music collide, where great tunes are spun by kids who know their Justice from their MSTRKRFT. The newest incarnation is moving to Thursdays at Umi Sushi Lounge (300 SW First Ave., Fort Lauderdale), featuring music from Pusher FM, Opium for the Masses, and DJ Esoteric. This week, the party kicks off at 10 p.m. with a live set from bluesy dance-rockers Stonefox, plus a showing by local artists Duane Jealousy and IndiePunk. No cover till midnight; $3 thereafter. Call 954-527-2742.
