Celebrate the Reagan Years in Style

When you step back and look at it, the abundance of ’80s themed nights at bars and clubs is pretty disturbing. Why do so many people find it necessary to relive the Reagan years? Oh, that’s right; the years of Iran-Contra and supply side economics look much better when wearing Bush colored glasses. But the ’80s weren’t all ex-actor presidents and scandals; they were also filled with some of the most hideously designed clothes, overdone hair, and extremely liberal use of neon colors in history. And behind each of these mini-fashion revolutions was a Flock of Seagulls, a Pat Benatar, and, yes, even a Prince. The fine folks at Respectable Street (518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach) are combining all the best parts of the decade with the most awkward night in most people’s young lives at the second ever ’80s Prom Night.Doors open at 9:00 p.m. and there is no cover! There will be prizes for the best ’80s attire; the prom king and queen will be crowned at 12:30. Call 561-832-9999, or visit www.respectablestreet.com.
