Vegas, Baby, Vegas!

Scantily clad dancers? Ferocious big cats? Magic tricks involving levitation, David Blaine-esque antics, and a seven-foot-long balloon? Is it just us, or does Cashetta, Queen of Magic’s new stage show sound like a nod to Sin City? “It’s a big illusion show, which is something nobody has seen from me yet,” the gifted drag illusionist says of her upcoming performance. “This is a show that could easily play Vegas.”

Never caught a Cashetta gig before? Imagine just the right amount of raunch, tempered with sleight-of-hand magic and an off-kilter cabaret show full of singing, dancing, and yukstering. You might have caught her singing jazz standards at Georgie’s Alibi or doing her best Ed McMahon impersonation as the host of Star Search at Bill’s Filling Station, but you haven’t seen anything until you’ve witnessed her new, full-length show. Lucky for you, Cashetta’s signed on to do a string of them at Cinema Paradiso (503 SE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale).
