Sushi and House Music

They go together like a horse and carriage

House music is so cosmically cool that you can imagine it playing in the background on the International Space Station, while astronauts repair solar panels and piss into complicated bags. Closer to home, the Soba Sushi Lounge (415 Plaza Real, Mizner Park, Boca Raton) is holding “We Love House Wednesdays.” Local DJ Mike Miro is spinning for the weekly event. His turntables churn out silky progressive house with great lines like: “Can you imagine living in an apartment on the moon? Swimming in a pool under a glass dome and breathing synthetic air?”

This is music for the space age crossed with remarkably cheap, fine dining: like a Greek-style caviar appetizer for $5.95 or a Lobster Tri-Roll for $14.95. The only thing a night like this is missing is a crew of geisha servers from Saturn. There will be drink and sushi specials from 10 p.m. till 2 a.m., and music all the while. For more info, call 561-289-6400, or visit www.sobalounge.com.
Wednesdays. Starts: July 16. Continues through Oct. 29, 2008
