Boozin’ for Bunnies

Suck a few down at the new 101 Ocean Restaurant (101 E Commercial Blvd., Lauderdale-by-the-Sea) Tuesday at 7 p.m. as celebrity bartenders mix drinks for wild animals. Well, technically, us humans will be doing the drinking, but the proceeds from our purchases will go to SPCA Wildlife Care Center. You’ll see newsies like CBS My 33 meteorologist Craig Setzer and WPBT Channel 2 senior producer Linda Corely sweating, stirring, and shaking side-by-side with Florida Panthers Right Wing Wade Belak and former defenseman and voice of the Panthers, Randy Moller.

Each cocktail purchased benefits the Wildlife Care Center, a facility that has rescued, rehabbed, and released everything from native hamsters to horses for nearly 40 years. The $10 cover charge includes one free drink and hors d’oeuvres, but plan to buy some balloons when you’re there, too. Each one contains a prize and one special balloon offers an opportunity to become part of a wild animal release. (Maybe you’ll recall last time you kicked a one-night-stand out of your apartment.
