Simply the Best

Ever since Lèche-Vitrines Art Gallery (3038 N. Federal Hwy., Times Square Plaza, Second Floor, Fort Lauderdale) set up camp, we’ve noticed an exciting change in the local art scene — namely, that it is flourishing. Most recent proof of this fab phenomenon can be found through Lèche’s latest assemblage, the “Second Juried Art Exhibition.”

Only 12 winning artists were selected and given the ultimate prize: coveted gallery wall space. Lèche’s owner Danielle Lanteigne took great care to pluck a variety of styles from the mountains of applicants, so you won’t find yourself staring at wall after wall of (insert your least favorite medium here). Instead you’ll explore complex community relationships through Jeff Olson’s lens; get a taste of primitive-meets-street art with Jeff Riggan; and self-analyze as you appreciate John Frazee’s Rorschach-esque plant depictions. It’s a charming collaboration, and you can catch it through August’s end. Call 954-563-2993, or visit www.lechevitrinesart.com for hours and appointments.
