One Day Anime Festival
Halloween in September
Published on September 04, 2008 at 12:01am
A one-day anime festival is coming to Davie on Saturday, and you really owe it to yourself to check it out. Even if youre not a fan of animated films there is plenty for everyone to see. Take cos-players for instance: These folks are so into their hobby that they dress in some of the most colorful and non-functional clothing this side of a Renaissance fair in order to look like their favorite characters. Seems strange, but is it really that much weirder than the thousands of people who dress like cowboys every day? (Answer: Yes, indeed it is.) Enjoy the costumes, films, music, manga and more at the Davie P.A.L. (4300 SW 57 Ter., Davie) Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to midnight. Tickets will run you $25 at the door or you can visit www.animesupercon.com for cheaper (or even free) advanced tickets. The fun continues on Sunday with Super Comic Day, so youve got two days to get your geek on!
