If mommas happy, everyones happy, Carla Bell says with a chuckle. Shes explaining the unique vision behind Spaaah Day, the newest event being put on by her organization, The She Market Inc. The party promises to be so spectacular, so lavish, so
girly, that you might forget how much good youre doing. You see, the She Market Inc. is a locally based non-profit that Bell founded two years ago. The organization pulls together volunteers from all aspects of the beauty, fashion, wellness, and the creative arts industries to put on cool events targeted at women. The proceeds brought in from these luxurious get-togethers go directly to the Pace Center for Girls, a program that keeps young women out of the criminal justice system by providing education and promoting healthy living.

More About
At Spaaah Day all aspects of health and beauty are combined and offered to the public. So $35 at the door gets you a 20-minute mini yoga session taught by Fort Lauderdales best yoga studio, Red Pearl; 20-minute mini manicures and chair massages; a hair styling station; and even a beauty bar where you can play with make-up and/or have a professional color application done. Its Saturday night, so youll leave Spaaah Day a more toned, coiffed, and seductive vixen than you were when you entered, while still paying it forward. Its an important combination, Bell says. In the effort to take care of and support everyone else, [women] ignore themselves. This way you can take a couple hours out of your week and do something fun, and youre helping a young girl coming up behind you who needs your support. Visit www.theshemarket.org for information and advanced tickets. The whole thing goes down at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Abdo New River Room (201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale); enter just to the left of the box office.
