Our Neighbors From the North

If there’s one group of people that South Floridians have grown accustomed to it’s New Yorkers. Being the retirement capital of the world brings us our fair share of kvetchers in the supermarket, pushy drivers who always seem ready to lay on their horns when you slow down for a yellow light, and shoppers who hold up the line to demand bargain bin prices. Are we talking about transplants from Michigan or New Mexico here? Unlikely.

More About

The upside of South Florida’s unbreakable ties to the Northeast is that we get some of the best entertainment the Big Apple has to offer. Look no further then comedian Richard Lewis, the ultimate New York stand-up comic. He represents and exploits all the neurotic, sarcastic, and apathetic behaviors of the Big City we have grown to love. You’ll be able to catch Lewis at the Fort Lauderdale Improv (5700 Seminole Way, Hollywood) this Thursday through Sunday. It will be like hanging out with the neighbor you only see in the winter months, just much more funny. Tickets start at $21. Visit www.improvftl.com for show times.
