Fetching Floaters

The world’s largest boat show is back

Just because many of us have a pot to piss in nowadays doesn’t mean we should forgo heading over to the 49th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to see what we can’t afford. Expect to ooh and ahh over $3 billion worth of boats, yachts, electronics, engines, and thousands of accessories at six locations. Between prayers to the money gods, chow down at the International Food Garden, drink up on floating cocktail barges, take fishing classes with the kiddies, and enjoy live music and a swimsuit fashion show. Boat stuff bore you? Investigate the exotic car showcase. Cruise over Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $18-$32 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12. Tickets can be purchased at Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Broward County Convention Center, or Las Olas Marina. Call 954-764-7642 for more information, or visit showmanagement.com.
