The holiday season has strayed from its frankincense and myrrh roots and become an ode to Hannah Montana and the latest iWhatever. You should stop being such a damn consumer, help someone less fortunate, and we’ll take that new Nano in pink while you spend the ducats on your ticket for the Exclusive Chocolate Soiree. The Miami Workers Center lends a hand to the working class and the poor 365 days a year, but Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. they’ll add cocktails, food, a live band, and sinful chocolate desserts to the mix. You can expect the same vigor that the center uses to fight inequality in the judicial, legislative, and executive branches. Only this time it’ll be used to celebrate the success of another year of community power. They’ve helped South Florida, so tonight help the Miami Workers Center by ponying up a Benjamin and having a blast at the Polish American Club of Miami.
