It’s All in the Cards

Tarot may have been dealt a bad hand, typically characterized as a cheap gypsy carnival ploy. While certainly used for divination, tarot has also been used as a meditation tool, sometimes linked with the Kabala. Tarot’s strongest proponent might be Carl Jung: along with dream interpretation, he used the tarot’s archetypal imagery to tap deep into the subconscious. Whatever the draw, tarot has been around since at least the middle ages and shows no sign of going away anytime soon. Try your hand at the ancient art this Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m., when Tarot Grandmaster Christiana Gaudet hosts her Holiday Open Houseat The Harvey Building. Reiki and massage will also be available and the only cost is canned goods for the Daily Bread Food Bank - good for the soul on many levels.

More on the open house and Ms. Gaudet’s Tarot Circle groups can be found on her website, at tarotbychristiana.com. The Harvey Building sits at 224 Datura St., Ste. 607, West Palm Beach.
