The Booth, The Booth, The Booth is on Fire

David Booth is one of the hardest working players on the Panthers; hell he might be the hardest working player in the league. On the ice, he’s a maniac: charging after loose pucks, giving up his body on defense and taking gargantuan beatings night in and night out as he parks himself in front of the opposing goaltender to scrap for every loose puck he can. His goals might not be the prettiest, but they all count exactly the same. Booth is only 24 years old, but he’s quickly becoming the physical and emotional leader for a Cats team that has been suffering through peaks and valleys all season. Still, despite the inconsistencies in goals and lack of a pure goal scoring forward, the Panthers are finding offense from every line, which bodes well for the future of the franchise. If Peter DeBoer can keep his team playing the high-energy, tight forechecking game that they’re capable of, South Florida might have a few teams make the postseason in a single year.

Tonight at 7:30 p.m., the Buffalo Sabers skate into town. Check the game out at the BankAtlantic Center, at 1 Panther Parkway in Sunrise. Tickets go for as little as $17. Visit ticketmaster.com, or call 954-835-7825.
