Pedal to the M-E-T-A-L!

Long before Fall Out Boy was plugging the Honda Civic, the backseat love affair between dirty rock bands and fast rides was already consummated. From Queen’s “I’m in Love With My Car” to Metallica’s “Fuel,” it’s a rare and deep partnership in a sea of fleeting and skeezy backstage encounters.

So when the legendary New England metal gathering known as Locofest was looking for a second, warmer home for their 2009 southern installment, the Palm Beach International Raceway was a natural fit. Locofest South arrives at the raceway with over 25 bands in tow, including Mudvayne, In This Moment, Nonpoint, EOTO, Hed P.E., and Bitchfire.

Fans are invited to camp out on the grounds on Friday night with local radio station 103.1 the Buzz. Doors open at 10 a.m. Saturday at 17047 Beeline Hwy. in Jupiter. Tickets cost $20 to $45. Visit locobazooka.com, or call 561-622-1400.
