Sift through some trashy fine art today at “Greener…,” an exhibition of innovative sculptures, collages, photographs and more, some made from objects the uninspired would deem garbage: auto parts, scrap metal, soda cans, matches, and even a television. The artists represented are mostly locals, except Nancy Asbell from Jacksonville and Samantha Churchill from Tampa, whose coiled Brain Freeze sculpture was made of aluminum found on a construction site. These works all depict nature and show appreciation for the planet we are destroying, so should guilt overwhelm you, you can always pick up a flier there from the Green League of Broward with resource lists, upcoming event information, and environmental action alerts.

Art Expressions Gallery, found at 1438 NE 26th St. in Fort Lauderdale, is hosting the exhibition Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m. until May 30. It’s free to see because Mother Nature would want it that way. Call 954-537-9000, or visit artexpressions.tk for more information.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: May 19. Continues through May 30, 2009
