Just in case you haven’t taken note of spring’s official coming out party, little reminders are beginning to sprout up everywhere. From the first few buds in the backyard recession gardens to the stepped up mating habits of single friends, to the germination of wickedly creative community projects, spring has arrived.

Immerse yourself in the bounty of the season with the Spring Fling and Flower Fashion Show tonight. Florists and designers will come together to create beautifully handcrafted gowns made entirely of spring’s flora and fauna at this charity gathering. Join gown models like NBC 6’s Julia Yarbough and Roxanne Vargas and Broward Mayor Stacy Ritter for a fashion show to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida. Cocktails, appetizers and a silent auction are included. Registration starts at 7 p.m. at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, 505 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $50. Visit sfla.wish.org, or call 954-414-2222.
