It May Be Easy Being Green

The new public library in downtown West Palm Beach will turn into a sanctuary for green-loving, tree-hugging do-gooders Wednesday when it broadcasts the first of a series of satellite lectures held at the New York City-based 92nd St. Y. “A Forum on Sustainable Global Enterprise,” featuring a discussion about issues of sustainability between Al Gore, Stuart Hart, H. Fisk Johnson, and Ratan Tata, comprises the final segment of the three-day Cornell Global Forum, where about 100 people are set to participate and discuss ways to transform business to be more environmentally friendly. The Y will broadcast the event live, so people around the country can ask the panelists questions. Outside the library, local vendors who exhibit a green conscience will sell products including food and beverages and the city will conduct tests on the water (only then will the hippies in attendance decide if it’s safe to bathe).

The new library is located in the City Center at 411 Clematis St. in West Palm Beach. Admission costs $5. For more information, call 561-868-7791, or visit friendswpblibrary.org.
