Division 1 Pro Wrestling, the local league of muscle-bound heroes, devious villains, and the vixens who love them, is back in action this Saturday for its latest night of bone-crushing entertainment, Against the Wall. Screw Vince McMahons little league: a night of D1PW has more twisted plot turns than an episode of Lost. Take tonights title fight, for example its a four-way, every-man-for-himself match between brothers Tommy and Johnny Vandal, the dog chain wielding mammoth Lou Cypher, and longtime combatant Bruce Santee. Theres also a tag team title on the line between the backwoods duo known as the Loggers and the universally reviled champions, Heartbreak Express, who recently defeated Dark City Fight Club to retain their title. Show up early and youll also catch New Times cover boy the Sheik as he settles his feud with Big Daddy Gonzo, and the newly formed tandem of Chris Jones and Maxx Stardom, who, after each refusing to fight for notorious promoter Rico Casanova, have joined up to tango with the villainous Lifeguards.
Catch all that, plus appearances by Amy Vitale, Fabulous Frank, Ted Vernon, and MTVs From Gs to Gents star All In when D1PW invades the Boulevard Heights Community Center at 6770 Garfield St. in Hollywood. Tickets cost $12 or $5 for kids. First bell rings at 7:30 p.m. Visit d1pw.com for more info.
