Gaelic Pride in West Palm

I dated an Irish guy who once told me about an extensive network of Irish people prepared to help their brethren and sistren at the drop of a hat. There are people all over the world, he said, ready to get someone situated or give him or her a job, as long as they're Irish.

Although he made it seem secretive, he was really talking about Irish Pubs. And he's right. They're everywhere. So ubiquitous, in fact, they seem poised to take over the world, military-industrial complex be damned. Are they ready to help? I wouldn't know, I'm not Irish. What I do know, however, is that the Irish throw a good bash, like the one Saturday in Downtown West Palm Beach. This month marks the 15th anniversary of O’Shea’s Irish Pub, one of the staple businesses of the Clematis District and known as a signature gathering spot. O’Shea’s will close off the 500 block of Clematis Street for the celebration, which, beginning at 3 p.m., will include live music, food and drink specials, bagpipe performances, traditional Irish dancers and more.
