Citizen on Patrol

If Hollywood ever decided to revive the bloated corpse that is the Police Academy franchise and opted to cast Michael Winslow's sound-effect spewing Officer Jones as a white guy, there would be no one more suited to play that role than comedian Pablo Francisco. Known for his uncanny impressions and ability to bend his vocal chords at will, Francisco has made a career out of lampooning Al Pacino, Keanu Reeves, and, most famously, the distinctive voice behind so many hundreds of action movie previews, Don LaFontaine (rest in peace, Don). He recently completed a blitzkrieg-style European tour, the exploits of which are hilariously chronicled on his mega-popular MySpace site. And now he's coming for you: Pablo is loading up the sound effects wagon and performing half a dozen shows Thursday through Sunday at Improv Paradise Live (5700 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Tickets will run you $27 - just slightly more than a couple of seats to some ridiculous, summer blockbuster. For showtimes, call 954-981-5653, or visit improvftl.com.
