If Spinal Tap notched the volume up to 11, then then Anvil! The Story of Anvil just cranked it up to 12. In his debut rockumentary, writer/director Sacha Gervasi follows Anvil, a Canadian power metal group that peaked in the early 80s. Once upon a time, the mall-haired rockers filled out bills for bands like the Scorpions and Bon Jovi. Despite heavy praises from luminaries like Lars Ulrich, Slash, and Lemmy from Motörhead, the record sales never came, and Anvils career stayed firmly planted on the ground.

Fast-forward 20 years, and Anvil is mounting their comeback tour: a laundry list of shows in dingy clubs and one-room dive bars. While the world may have forgotten about Anvil, the founding members, Steve Kudlow and Robb Reiner, have not. With a passion thats fueled by emotion, naiveté, and relentless drive, they pound the pavement with the hopes of reclaiming the fame that once couldve, shouldve been theirs.
