For every doe-eyed ingénue and strapping male lead who makes it big on stage or screen, there are countless thousands who never will. (In Hollywood, they're called "waiters.") If you're looking to beat the theatrical odds, dust off your headshots and pull out your favorite monologue Saturday when renowned NYC actress and private stage coach Juliette Jeffers will host the day-long workshop, "From Headshots to Bookings and Everything in Between."

Jeffers (whose credits include two of her own one-woman stage shows, ER, Grey's Anatomy, and — oh yes — Saved by the Bell: The New Class) will speak on a variety of topics including cold-reading for film, TV, and commercials, as well as the ins and outs of the business.

To get to the event, exit stage left… er, that is: take the Sunrise exit off of I-95 to ArtServe (1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). Tickets cost $30 for Jeffers's opening lecture (10 a.m. to noon), $150 for the cold reading workshop (12:15 to 6), or $160 for the full day.
