We Caught One Thiiiiis Big

There’s more than one way to catch a fish, but if your best technique includes your bare hands and a lot of luck, you might never eat mahi-mahi again. If you have a strategy that works, enter the third annual Miami Fishing Tournament, where local fisherman take to Biscayne Bay to see who can catch the largest dolphin, wahoo, and kingfish in the smallest amount of time. This amateur tournament will bring the winner more than dinner and bragging rights. A $5,000 prize is up for grabs, and with entry fees at just $275 per team, that cash will buy you a lot of chum. Oh, and bring the kiddies, because peewee and junior anglers can enter to win their own pintsize trophies. For rules and team signup, call 305-579-6955 or visit miamifishingtournament.org.

Don’t fret, goldfish-catchers. The event will also celebrate National Marina Day, so beginning at 7 a.m., there’ll be music, food, and free fun for all at Miamarina.
