Soul Refill

If you’ve lived in South Florida long enough, chances are that you’ve lost, sold, or bartered your soul away. No worries though, because you can fill that empty void — or at very least your belly — at the Soul Food Festival. Vendors will be serving up delicious Southern eats like fried chicken, cornbread, collard greens, and chitlins. A long list of performers include Silk, Peabo Bryson, Bar-Kays, Lakeside, and Angela Winbush, along with Dru Hill (Remember Sisqó? Most of us lost our soul during the “Thong Song” era.) Soul Food Festival’s final stop is 4 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Cove Amphitheater at South County Regional Park (12551 Glades Road, Boca Raton). Bring your I.D., but you’ll need to leave the kids at home: This is a 21+ event. Pre-sale tickets cost $28. Visit ticketmaster.com or ilovesoulfood.com.
Sat., Sept. 5, 4 p.m., 2009
