Coming Out Alone Is Fun

The one-man show is often the product of an insanely talented artist, a megalomaniac control freak, a pitch meeting with Eddie Murphy, or a combination of these factors. Comedic performer Jeffrey Solomon decided to go the one-man show route with his play Mother/Son. Although he might possess a few of the aforementioned character issues, the decision to go it alone could be what makes the story that much more poignant. Mother/Son is the story of a man coming out of the closet to his mother, who then retreats into her own closet. It’s the journey of denial, acceptance, and understanding that parents (hopefully) go through that makes Mother/Son unique and hilarious. $30 gets you in the William & Norma Horvitz Auditorium at the Museum of Art - Fort Lauderdale (One East Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale).
