More About

Sure, fans of anime might spend their lives celebrating cartoons, comic books, and video games (and, for a really good time, dressing up as their favorite fictional characters). So what? Is it really all that different from throwing on a football jersey on Sundays? Where’s your inner child? If you haven’t drowned him in alcohol or hung him with the skeletons in your closet, the Animation Supercon at the Doubletree Miami Mart Convention Center (711 NW 72nd Ave., Miami) is the perfect place to set him loose. This year, along with hundreds of booths selling comics, films, toys, and games, the convention will feature the reunions of the cast of Futurama and Pink & The Brain, music by Select Start, an amateur film festival, Supercon Championship Wrestling, and Q&As with some of the biggest names in animation. Daily passes cost $20 for Friday and Sunday, $25 for Saturday. Three-day passes are $40. Visit animationsupercon.com.
