Crafting sushi is an art. Carefully selecting the best high grade fish, vegetables, and rice and arranging them into picture perfect rolls takes years to perfect. There’s no doubt that the best way to enjoy such fine craftsmanship is to quickly jam as much of it as possible into your mouth in a single sitting. Enter Sushi Jo’s second annual sushi-eating contest, where all your raw seafood gluttony fantasies will come true. The person who can stuff the most raw fish and rice into their gullet walks away with the type of pride only an eating contest can bring, and gets $300 cash to boot. Second place brings home a $100 gift certificate and third scores a $50 gift certificate. For those not interested in pushing their intestinal limits, Sushi Jo is also rocking cheap drink specials and live music by Spred The Dub and DJ Adam Lipson. The contest begins at 6 p.m. at Sushi Jo (5080 PGA Blvd., Ste 105, Palm Beach Gardens). Call 561-868-7893 or visit sushijo.com.
