A Better Fantasy Than the Football Kind

Yes, this Saturday’s Captain Morgan’s Fantasy Fest Parade on Duval Street in Key West is a healthy distance from Broward or Palm Beach, but is a few hours really so far to drive for hordes of shirtless women with butterflies painted on their boobs? We think not. Especially when the theme for this year — the 30th Anniversary of the event by the way — is “Villains, Vixens, and Vampires,”and the grand marshal is Playboy’s Bridget Marquardt, of “Girls Next Door” fame. Expect the fifty gigantic homemade floats stretching from White St. to Front St. to be plastered with exotic sights galore, in keeping with the unwritten rule that all Fantasy Fest events be awesome.

The festival as a whole began last Friday (Oct. 23rd), but tonight is the main night. Get out on Duval at noon if you’re hardcore; otherwise, Marquardt kicks things off at 7 p.m. The parade’s free but if you’re going down to Key West, we imagine you’ll be spending cash on other things.
