Dear Mr. Broderick,

I’m writing this letter on behalf of humankind to thank you for defining our lives. You showed us all, via the greatest movie of all time, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, that it’s not only okay to fake sickness and skip school, but it’s only by performing these acts that we can truly learn about ourselves. Then, through the mouth of a Lion King, you taught us all to face our past and fight against tyranny. You played Inspector Gadget, starred in The Cable Guy, and helped bring The Producers to the big screen. If it wasn’t for you, we’d all be miserable fools completely devoid of proper entertainment and life lessons.
