Three-Feat

During an off-season that the Cavaliers added Shaq and Vince Carter was traded to Orlando, the Miami Heat stood pat, thinking it could build on last year’s 43-win season by asking Dwyane Wade to, once again, play the role of Atlas. With an inconsistent supporting cast, D-Wade still managed to win the scoring title last season, all the while stepping up his defense and single-handedly winning games. Still, someone is going to have to help carry the load if the Heat is to earn a playoff berth. Will Michael Beasley hit his potential and blossom into a big-time scoring threat? Is Mario Chalmers the long-term answer at the point? Can Jermaine O’Neal’s knees keep from turning into crumbled animal crackers before the season is out? There’s uncertainty at every level. Except with the guy that wears number 3. Miami hosts the Phoenix Suns Tuesday at the American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd, Miami). Tipoff is at 7:30. Tickets start at $10. Visit nba.com/heat.
