All Get Out

Have your cardigans handy on Tuesday night as Propaganda brings us an evening chock-full of sentimental, emotive indie rock. In keeping with promoter Steve Rullman's vision of packaging bands, the four acts on this night's bill cross similar heart-on-sleeve territories. Two of them, All Get Out and the Working Title, are from Charleston, South Carolina, and are touring nationally. The Working Title is perhaps the bigger name of the two, having had a brush with success in '06 with a major-label debut, About Face, and subsequent tours with the Goo Goo Dolls and Mute Math. The onetime quintet has dwindled to one man since being dropped by Universal in '07, but that has afforded sole remaining member Joel Hamilton the opportunity to better hone in on his introspective, if not self-destructive, verses.

More About

All Get Out provides a little more texture over its vocals, which unnervingly tremble much in the same way as Conor Oberst's. The other two acts, Alexander and Quiet River, hail from Boca Raton and share more than a little kinship with Boca's most famous emo byproduct, Chris Carrabba. Alexander tends to sound a bit more produced, in the vein of Death Cab for Cutie, while Quiet River goes for slightly folksier charm.
