Find Your Heart at Kravis

Frank Sinatra once called Astoria's favorite son “the best g-d pop singer I've ever heard,” and judging by the octogenarian crooner's six-decade legacy as an entertainer, one could not help but agree with him. Tony Bennett shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon, and he continues being relevant after all this time – he was recently nominated for a Grammy award for 2008's excellent A Swingin' Christmas (Columbia), which took Holiday classics to a fresh, jazz-inflected direction.

During his live performances, Bennett gives the audience exactly what they expect: a selection of standards from the Great American Songbook, including Charlie Chaplin's “Smile,” Cole Porter's “Night and Day” and his signature tune, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.” To show his pipes are still in great shape, he often performs “Fly Me to The Moon” without any amplification, a tradition started on his 1994 MTV Unplugged appearance. Show starts at 8 p.m. at the Kravis Center (701 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach). Tickets cost $31 to $135. Call 561-833-8300, or visit kravis.org.
