Maybe it’s the glut of He’s Just Not That Into You/Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus crap advice floating around lately, but doesn’t it seem like we all waste far too much time trying to figure out the opposite sex? If current circumstances make you misty-eyed for simpler times, when a pigtail tug and a push into the dirt at recess meant your suitor was head over heels for you, you’re not alone. During “Luv Sux” at McSorley’s Beach Pub (837 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale), love returns to the battlefield with a battle-of-the-sexes, pre-Valentine’s Day competition. Registration begins at noon, when same-sex teams gather to battle the opposite sex to the death (oops, bar tab) with a list of competitions from billiards, darts, beer pong, gender feuds, corn hole, shuffleboard, and more. Each challenge gets you closer to the prized bar tab and surprises. The battles last from noon to 6 p.m. with a $20 cover.
