The 11th annual Delray Beach Garlic Fest is designed for a certain breed. Because, in order to venture out to a festival so dominantly garlic-related, the traveler has to be crazy about garlic. Even though it knows it’ll never have the same appeal as a beerfest, the garlic fest also knows it has one humungous plus: the food. There will be over 150 vendors serving both gourmet and festival food at Old School Square (51 North Swinton Ave., Delray Beach) this Friday through Sunday. For music, Everclear, The Wailers, and Andy Childs will headline, and local acts such as Amber Leigh, Taylor Road, and The Fabulous Fleetwoods will perform. The festival will also feature a "Garlic Chef" competition. But there will be a minus too: Garlic produces a disagreeable aroma from the people who eat it without reservation. See if that’s a fair price to pay, alongside the admission cost of $10. Hours are Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit dbgarlicfest.com.
