It’s Tea Party night at Underground Coffeehaus (2743 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). The Underground tea partier knows this party isn’t for the fight of taxes — that no buckets of tea will be spilled in the Atlantic this evening. But that this party is for no other than to celebrate everything to do with Alice in Wonderland — the rabbits with pocket watches, the Tweedledees and Tweedledums, the hallucinogenic drugs (just kidding!), and thanks to Tim Burton, now our own homegrown superstar: Johnny Depp. Yes, this festivity is right on time: Tim Burton’s release of his adaptation of Alice is right around the corner (March 5). So celebrate happily on Saturday in your best Wonderlandian costume. Don the green top hat — with a card in it that reads 10/6 — your yellow suit jacket, green shirt, khakis, and teal bow tie. Well, that’s if you’re the original Disney’s Mad Hatter. But if you’d rather go for Depp’s look — shoot for a lot of crazy makeup. Better yet! Underground is offering to do the makeup for you; donations are suggested. Sip a peanut butter latte or other coffee drinks while watching films Alice Through the Looking Grass and Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, of course. No cover charge.
