There are two opinions of Rachel Ray: those who simply dislike her and those who want to slap the yum-o right out of her mouth. Get your chance to do either (well, dont actually slap her) at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, which features celebrity chefs like Ray, hometown favorite Michelle Bernstein, and every other line cook turned Food Network star. Among this years highlights:
Performers and dancers will keep you entertained from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday at Mischieve in the Garden of Agave at the Sagamore (1671 Collins Ave., Miami Beach). The event is sponsored by Hornitos Tequila, which claims it misspelled mischief on purpose as part of a philosophy that sports good-natured misbehavior. Drink cocktails such as Hornitail and Horni Wallbanger. The party will feature the Food Networks Marcela Valladolid. Tickets cost $85.
If bubbly is more your thing, Emeril Lagasse will host the Perrier-Jouet BubbleQ from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Delano (1685 Collins Ave., Miami Beach). The event features local chefs like Bernstein, Kris Wessel, and Norman Van Aken, plus A-list chefs from around the country, so youre guaranteed to leave happily tipsy. Tickets cost $350.
